Lord, please offer reassurance to this anxious parent that you are in control and that your loving arms will be there to surround parent and child during this time of sickness. Remind the whole family that you are the great physician, that your arms are long enough to reach out and bring healing to this precious child. Grant peace to my friend and all the adults in this young person’s life, I ask in the loving name of Christ our Lord. Amen.

Praying for Peace for my Friend’s Child
Father God, as I offer these prayers for a friend’s sick child, I offer them with gratitude for your faithfulness, goodness, and mercy to us. You never leave or forsake us, and we rejoice in your presence. I pray that this sweet little one, the sick child of my friend, will feel your presence and will experience your faithfulness, goodness, and mercy even if too young to fully understand or explain it. Settle this child’s heart, ease all anxiety and fear, and bring comfort. Bring calm confidence into this child’s mind and allow your Holy Spirit to move with compassion and love that this little one can feel tangibly. Allow them to be sensitive to you and guide them with the right course of action to bring about the best outcomes. Guide their hands, their hearts, their thoughts. Prayer for Family Relationships
God, sickness can be hard on families and relationships between family members. During this challenging time of caring for a sick child, I ask that you allow each person in this little patient’s family to be open to the comfort you offer, accept the peace you freely give and sense your presence in their lives and this situation. Give them patience with one another and with the process. Help them be especially sensitive to each other’s needs, so no one is overlooked or feels forgotten. Let them rest well, speak kindly to each other, and be mindful of how they care for one another just now. Allow them to come out of this challenging time of caring for a sick child stronger and more closely connected as a family unit. Stretch their dollars, Lord, and provide assistance as needed through insurance, programs, pay raises, or provisions only you can supply. God, your word assures us if we have a spirit of fear; it didn’t come from you. Instead, you give us a strong mind, love, and power. Through your power and because of your love, ease their concerns and worries. Quiet any unrest or uncertainty they may be feeling right now. When they are experiencing stress, considering difficult decisions, or hurting because of the pain their child is feeling, help them remain strong in you, oh Lord. Please prevent them from giving in to fear or discouragement. And Lord, during this challenging season they are in, I ask that you please build their faith. Make your presence and power real to them, help them trust you in ways they never have before, and let their confidence in you grow to new heights. I ask these blessings to my friend’s family while they are caring for their sick child. Thank you, gracious God, for being with them every step of the way. Amen.
