Bible Verses for Church Leadership
You will need to appoint some competent leaders who respect God and are trustworthy and honest. Then put them over groups of 10, 50, 100, and 1,000. – Exodus 18:21
The Bible is clear that efficient and competent leadership is vital for the success of any organization, including the Church. In Exodus 18:21, Moses is instructed by God to appoint leaders who are both trustworthy and honest.
This passage emphasizes the importance of having competent leaders who are able to provide guidance and direction. It also highlights the need for those leaders to be individuals of integrity who can be trusted to act in the best interests of those they are responsible for.
With an upright heart, he shepherded them and guided them with his skillful hand. – Psalm 78:72
The Bible is clear that those who are called to leadership positions in the Church are to be people of upright character. This does not mean that they will be perfect, but rather that they will be men who seek to live according to God’s standards.
This verse from Psalm 78 is a reminder that those who are called to lead the Church should do so with humility and Integrity. It is also a reminder that they must be willing to put the needs of others above their own. When leaders keep these things in mind, they can be confident that they are doing what God has called them to do. If you feel this calling (or you feel drawn to one) consider sharing a prayer for vocations.
