Prayers
Verses
Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
The prayers of true Christians full of love and faith for Jesus Christ will be answered. When the Bible tells us to believe that we have received our prayer, it tells us to believe that our heavenly Father has already heard us.
We need not question His almighty will or His intent.
We need not doubt our prayers are heard or answered.
Together as we gather in prayer we decree that our prayers are already answered. We know our God is the true and just God and those who do not hear their prayers answered do not have faith in Him.
Jeremiah 33:3
Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
God has been listening. He has already heard your prayer. For us to truly understand and experience the true power of God, we sometimes need to experience doubt, frustrations and obstacles in life.
All of us struggle with something in our lives. None of us neither the richest nor the poorest go through life without wishing for something to be different.
Maybe that struggle is internal. Maybe you place limitations on yourself because of doubt, anxiety or fear. Maybe that struggle comes from somewhere else. Maybe someone who has hurt you, betrayed you or told you that you were unable or unworthy.
Maybe your struggle is doubt itself. Maybe you struggle to truly accept the word of God into your life.
The thing about having your prayer answered is it rarely happens in a way you expect. You might pray to have an obstacle removed from your life or ask God to provide something you feel is missing.
That doesn’t mean he’s going to remove that clamp from your car. It doesn’t mean you’ll find a missing lottery ticket in your pocket. Unbelievers often point to this as if to say ha! This is proof there is no God!
But we know the truth.
We know that His ways are not our ways. His actions are not our actions. He will grant our prayers in wonderful ways we don’t always expect or even notice at first. Sometimes it is only in hindsight that we see where God has carried us.
Luke 11:10
For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened.
All we need to do to have our prayer heard by Him is to ask for it. We only need to seek His love to find it. We only need to look to Him to find his loving eyes watching over us.
Throughout the Bible, we are told that the Lord will renew our strength and everything has to do with the timing of God. When we wait on God we know he is working in our lives.
No matter the obstacle we face. No matter the barrier against us. The Bible makes it clear it doesn’t matter who we are or what we do in life. If we live our life by His words then God works through us.
He qualifies us even when we feel unqualified. He can see into our hearts and souls. He can see our true potential and the Lord God will take us. He will lead us onward.
Regardless of our weaknesses. Regardless of our past actions. If we but turn to Him and seek His guidance, we will find it.
Proverbs 28:9
If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction, even their prayers are detestable.
We cannot trick or deceive our faith. Those who truly hear the teachings of God and live for God have their prayers heard and answered time and time again.
As we follow in His scripture we know He watches over us. We know He sees all things and grants that which is good for us. Those who truly live as one of his own are worthy of his love.
James 4:3
When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
Dear Father in Heaven, I am your humble child, and I come before you today to ask that You watch over me and my family. There are many trails that we must go through in this world, but because of Your promised blessings, we will be successful in all our affairs, both spiritual and temporal.
Help us not to become discouraged when we do not receive answers to our prayers as quickly as we had hoped. Help us remember that You are a God of miracles and that we must continue on with faith, knowing you will deliver the answers we seek in Your own time and way.
Amen.

James 1:6-7
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.
This is, perhaps, the main message we should take away from these verses. We should pray to God without expecting him to grant our prayers right away or in the way we expect. He knows what we truly need.
