Terror can grip your heart so tightly that it makes it hard to breathe. You can actually get it even if you are not under stress or have nothing to fear. It can be so unexpected, and so it’s important to always meditate on Bible verses on panic attacks to be ready to respond when it happens to you or someone you love.
Panic attacks can happen for physical or spiritual reasons. Fortunately, the Bible covers both. It contains wisdom and revelation that can help you resist physical or spiritual attacks. Let’s look at some of the causes of panic attacks and find answers in God’s Word.
Prayers
What Does the Bible Say About Panic Attacks?
The Bible tells us not to be anxious about anything. In fact, it mentions the words “fear not” 365 times. Anxiety is one of the causes of panic attacks. When you are anxious, you are always worrying, which gives a signal to your body to panic.
The more you worry, the more you will panic. Instead of worrying, lift up all your concerns to God through prayer and supplication. “Cast your cares unto the Lord,” the Bible says.
Corinthians 7:32
I want you to be free from anxieties.
The birds of the air and the lilies of the fields do not worry about anything, and yet the Lord provides for everything they need. How much more valuable are you?
So whenever you feel anxious, remember to come to Jesus. He has promised that his yoke is easy and His burden is light. We can come to Him for all our concerns. Nothing is too big or too small for Him. Take comfort in the fact that the God of the Universe is for you.
Matthew 6:27
And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
If God is for us, who can be against us? No enemy can take us away from the love and protection of the Lord.
Panic attacks can also be caused by certain changes in brain function. This is where you seek God’s favor to heal you and provide you with doctors who can help you diagnose your condition properly.
Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
It is not impossible for God to remove our ailments. He just needs to speak one word and you shall be healed. We just need faith and patience. Many times, Jesus healed the sick because they had faith that they would be healed instantly.
But sometimes, the healing is not instant. You need to work with god and your doctor for healing. In this case, you need to be patient and learn to wait for the Lord. He always answers in His perfect timing.
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
God wants us to lean on Him and not on our own understanding. We need to trust Him with all our hearts and for all our needs.
Be careful not to expect a trouble-free life. In fact, we are going to face trials and tribulations in this world. But we don’t need to be afraid because Jesus has overcome the world. Through Him, we can have victory over all our concerns – physical, mental, financial, spiritual, or whatever else it may be.
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
We need to lean on this knowledge because panic can also come from spiritual attacks by the enemy – the devil. He can attack when you least expect it and sometimes when you are under deep stress.
So you need to put on the full armor of God to be able to stand against his schemes and be protected from spiritual attacks.
Peter 5:7
Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
Remember that we also battle in the spiritual realms. If you get a panic attack from nowhere and for no reason – you have nothing to worry about, you have no sickness – and it can very well be a spiritual attack.
Surround yourself with God’s righteousness and truth. Cling to Jesus alone for salvation. Strengthen your faith because it’s a shield that extinguishes the arrows of the enemy. And use God’s Word to attack and defeat the lies of the enemy.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Pray to God on all occasions. Whatever you may be experiencing, whatever your situation may be, always turn to God. And He will grant You the peace that transcends all understanding.
Let us pray.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
God our Father in Heaven, we thank You for Your Word that brings light into our lives and helps us grow in wisdom and discernment. It guides us into straight and narrow paths and never leads us astray.
We pray for those who find themselves gripped by fear and anxiety when they experience a panic attack. May they find comfort in Your Word and eternal promises. Let them know that You are their Good Shepherd and though they walk in the valley of the shadow of death, Your rod and Your staff comfort them.
May Your Word always be a light unto their feet and a lamp unto their path. In Jesus’ name, we pray. And God’s people said, “Amen!”.
Continue to meditate on God’s Word and find comfort in His presence.
