A Prayer for Our Country
Dear God,
I appreciate all the things You’ve done for me and all the blessings You’ve given in the span of my life. In this prayer for America, I hope You guide this country towards nothing but good. I pray that through me, I get to inspire people in the country to choose love instead of hate and to choose hope instead of fear. Even as there are several things to be afraid of right now, especially with the uncertainty of situations, give America the strength to stay grounded in the hope that things will eventually get better and that pain isn’t the absence of hope. Give the people of America the wisdom to see things from your perspective and to choose to have a good heart above all else, even in a world where it’s easy to harden your heart. Give America the sight to see things clearly and to always believe even in the unseen – to have faith even when it’s the hardest thing to do.
In circumstances of chaos and uncertainty, give the people of America the ability to remain kind, patient, and resilient. Give the people to love each other unconditionally and to repeatedly forgive one another, no matter what mistakes and failures they’ve made. Let America be a country of so much love that others can’t help but get inspired by it. Even when there is so much pain in the world, let the people become even stronger because of it and use it as their story of faith. Guide them towards the truth of who You are and that having faith isn’t being naive or innocent of the hardships of the world. Give people the courage to see that having faith and believing in You is the bravest decision they can make. Give America the wisdom to see things from a logical and wise perspective to know right from wrong, to know evil from good. Give the people the ability to choose their faith above all else and to stay grounded in their belief in You.
For the people who don’t believe in Your existence, guide them on the right path so that they won’t get hurt doing the wrong thing. When the time is right, give them the chance to change their ways from wrong to right. In this prayer for America, let it be a country full of hope, faith, goodness, and love. Let the people be a reminder the things can change for the better when you stand for what you believe in, and to give everyone a chance to change their wrong ways. Let America remind the world that humanity is still possible if we treat others with compassion and kindness.
I pray that You guide everyone in America enough that in difficult situations, You help them have enough courage to push through with bravery and resilience. The world may be tough and difficult, but give the people so much hope that they never have thoughts of giving up and ending things. Give people the persistence to keep fighting for what they believe in and to choose love above all else. Even in despair and grief, give people the bravery to find the silver lining in even the most painful situations they’re going through.
Lastly, give the people in America the guidance and protection they need to keep moving forward. I know that it isn’t easy to hope for the future when everything feels uncertain, but I pray You to remind people that You’re the symbol of light, hope, and faith above all else. In situations where it’s easy to dwell in darkness and hopelessness, let the people with strong faith and dedication to Your truth be the symbol that America needs to know right from wrong. America is a large country and I pray You to use the people in the country to do what’s right, even when it’s not always to choose the moral. In a country that’s easy to focus on each other’s differences, give everyone the courage to choose love, understanding, and kindness above all else. Your blessing is everything to the people in America and I thank You every day for all the blessings You continue to provide to everyone.
