Prayers for Bedtime for Protection and Peaceful Sleep

A bedtime prayer wraps up the day and invites blessings and favor from our Heavenly Father for the next day. We can ask Lord God to protect us while we sleep and thank him for the day behind us.

Take a moment with me before you fall asleep to thank our heavenly Father for the gift of the day and ask him to watch over you tomorrow.

Let us pray.

You can read this prayer out loud or (if you prefer) simply play the video and allow me to say the prayer for you.

Bedtime Prayer for Protection

Dear Lord, I pray you tonight to ask that you watch over me as I sleep tonight. Protect me from harm as I rest and prepare me for the new opportunities you place before me tomorrow.

The day is drawing to an end and it’s time for rest. I thank you for your unseen presence and help during the day and ask that you continue it tonight.

Heavenly Father, we need your help every day and we’re thankful that you watch share Your endless love for us.

Grant me a restful sleep tonight oh Lord. Allow me to awake tomorrow refreshed and ready to receive the beauty of the new day that you provide.

Father, I pray together to thank you for holding me today. You were there for me as you continue to be when I sleep tonight. I thank you for every small and large kindness you show.

God, sometimes our days are hard but we know you are there for us. You place opportunity before us and help us in our struggles to achieve. Help us to follow your wisdom and light.

Bring my family and me a good night’s sleep so that we can spread Your love with others tomorrow.

Father, I can’t begin to express my thankfulness for today but you see the true level of thanks within our hearts. As I go to bed, I pray that you lead my footsteps tomorrow. Make me strong with Your grace and allow me to truly rest tonight.

Lord, watch me throughout the night and wake me with the new morning light.

You alone be the glory.

Bedtime Prayer Against Bad Dreams

Dear Lord, as I lay my head to sleep tonight I pray that you stop me from having bad dreams.

Hold me tight in your love and bring me the sweet sleep and peaceful rest with pleasant dreams and happy thoughts.

I know you want the best for me Dear God and as our Heavenly Father, you watch over me as I sleep. Sometimes bad dreams disrupt my rest and your light has the power to keep them away.

In the name of Jesus, I declare that I will not have bad dreams tonight.

By the love of God, I will have sweet dreams and a bright morning as I awake.

Bedtime Prayer for Sleep and Healing

Lord God our Heavenly Father above, I give you all the praise that I’m able to give.

It is thanks to You and Your blessings that I lay my head to rest tonight. I ask that you help me rest and heal fully as I sleep tonight.

I am thankful for this day and thankful still for the opportunity of restful sleep. Allow me to rest my troubled thoughts and aching body and be embraced with pleasant morning light as I arise tomorrow.

Bring me true rest and heal my body, dear Lord.

This I ask, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Bedtime Prayer of Thanks

Lord, I have hope for tomorrow and every day following thanks to Your grace and love.

As I lay myself to rest tonight I’m thankful for all that You have given me. All the opportunity and love I have in my life is thanks to You.

I give my thanks and my all for everything you have done for us, Lord. I fill my day with prayer and love for you and my night with spiritual rest to prepare me for your blessing of a new day tomorrow.

In the name of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
