War and the threat of war. Crime. Racial Violence. Natural Calamities. Economic Crisis. Bankruptcy. Job Layoffs. These are just a few of the things that drive people to come to God with a prayer for fear and uncertainty.
Even if we live in an area of peace and stability, things are not always rosy. The economy could be hit by a black swan event that puts the entire world in turmoil. Your company could be hit by sudden challenges and be forced to declare bankruptcy or lay off workers.
In our families, there’s a lot of uncertainty. Will you stay single or find your “one true love”? Will you graduate on time, or will you fail subjects and extend your studies? Will you be able to find work after finishing high school or college, or will you be unemployed for a long time?
Will your kids grow up following the path of righteousness, or will they fall under the influence of ungodly friends or the world? Will your spouse be faithful to you until the end? Will your finances be enough to weather storms or to sustain your retirement?
So whatever area in life it might be, there are many question marks and things that you cannot control. Because we cannot control the future, we must cling to God for peace amidst all the trials.

God our Father in Heaven, we stand before You in prayer, humble before Your great presence. We pray for Your spirit of strength and boldness to enable Your people to move forward and advance Your kingdom through terror and uncertainty. Lord Jesus, You said that whenever two or three are gathered in Your Name, there You will be. We humbly ask for Your presence beside us. We know that the prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective, yet we claim no righteousness of our own other than the righteousness of our Lord Jesus. You said, Lord, that there will be wars and rumors of wars in this world and that these things must come to pass. There will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes, just the beginning of sorrows. We thank You, Lord, for putting some of Your people in such places. Let them experience a full life in Your presence. Cover them with Your protection always, for even though they live in a place of peace, there are other kinds of challenges that they will face. Economic crises, job layoffs, financial problems, and broken relationships are still dangers that they will face. The enemy can still lay traps to dishearten the faithful, so, therefore, we pray for a healthy portion of Your spirit of courage for them. May they boldly advance Your kingdom and be a light to others gripped by the darkness of terror. And may they always be grateful for the blessings that You have given them. For many of Your people live in places with war and rumors of war, crimes, racial violence, natural calamities, and religious persecution. There are people who cannot worship Your Name in public, for their life is under real threat. We pray for these believers that You give them a double portion of Your Spirit. May the light of the Holy Spirit emanate from their very lives and serve as a beacon to others in these dark places. Protect them with Your outstretched right hand and advance ahead of them as they forcefully advance Your kingdom. May You cause the Church to unite as one body in Christ to shield, support, and lift up every believer wherever they may be. Teach us to defeat fear and uncertainty with faith, boldness, and unity. For if You are with us, who can be against us? May You guide Your faithful and be with them always. In Jesus’ name, we pray. And God’s people said, “Amen!”.
