Parents don’t need to wonder, ” Should I say a prayer for my grown son?” For Christian parents, children will always be their children, whether they’re 14 or 40. With all the trials and challenges Christians face, they will need all the support they can get.
Prayer is one of the weapons for spiritual warfare. It is your main tool for asking God to equip your children with everything that they need to succeed in life – wisdom, strength, character, faith, and more. Let us not grow tired in sending out petitions to the Lord.

God our Father in Heaven, we stand before You in prayer, humble before Your great presence. We pray for the sons who are now facing the challenges of adulthood. Lord Jesus, You said that whenever two or three are gathered in Your Name, there You will be. We humbly ask for Your presence beside us. We know that the prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective, yet we claim no righteousness of our own other than the righteousness of our Lord Jesus. We stand with the parents as they pray for the righteousness of their children. May the sons who have not yet accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior discover the overwhelming peace of having You in their lives. May they find the opportunity to get to know better. Speak to them, Lord. Speak to their lives in a powerful manner. Speaker to them in such a way that they cannot deny that You are the Lord of all. Give them a heart that seeks after You and Your kingdom first. Grant them wisdom as they grow in the fear of the Lord. Give them open eyes so that they can see the truth clearly and not be deceived. Mold their character after Your likeness. Make them bold and strong leaders in the companies, churches, and communities that they belong to. Remind them that they don’t have a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power, self-control, and discipline. Surround them with godly friends and mentors. Help them grow in righteousness and give them a godly spouse as well. Help them maintain sexual purity and teach them to flee from temptation. For those who already have their own families, make them godly parents and help them be faithful stewards of the children You have blessed them. Turn them into more loving husbands who love their wives as Christ loves the church. For the parents and children that don’t have a good relationship, we pray for restoration, Lord. Give them a heart that beats with forgiveness. Help them to let go of the bitterness in their hearts, and encourage them to repair and rebuild their relationship on a new foundation. Help the sons who are struggling with low self-worth, addictions, or bad choices in the past. Help them understand that their past does not determine their future. They can lay down new paths, paths that are aligned with Your purpose and will for their lives. Help the sons who have strayed away from their faith. We ask You to seek them out, Lord, like the lost sheep in the flock. Bring them back into a relationship with You. May they recognize Your voice and be pulled back to You. Strengthen them and heal their bodies. By Your precious blood, remove every known and hidden ailment. Help them to love and offer their bodies as a living sacrifice. Grant them favor on everything they do. Bless the work of their hands and let them expand their territory. Give them promotions and advancement in their work, business, and relationships. Thank You, Lord. We claim this prayer is answered. May You guide them and be with them always. In Jesus’ name, we pray. And God’s people said, “Amen!”.
