We are completely helpless when we are sleeping. Every time we wake up, it’s proof of God’s faithfulness and that He answers prayers for protection while sleeping. God’s mercies are truly new every morning!
In the same way that God is faithful to His promises, we need to be faithful in our daily prayer habits. Don’t take for granted that you can sleep soundly at night because there are places in the world where that is difficult to do.
There are dangerous places in the world where you need to be alert even when sleeping for one reason or another – war, criminal elements, or evil spirits. Even if you live in a place that is safe, we don’t put our faith in that place – we put our faith in the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

God our Father in Heaven, we stand before You in prayer, humble before Your great presence. We pray for Your protection as Your people sleep. We cast our cares for the day to You and trust that You will protect us and resolve our worries.
Lord Jesus, You said that whenever two or three are gathered in Your Name, there You will be. We humbly ask for Your presence beside us.
We know that the prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective, yet we claim no righteousness of our own other than the righteousness of our Lord Jesus.
We pray that You watch over every one of us and our households and protect us while we sleep. We close our eyes in faith, knowing that You are Jehovah Nissi – our protector and deliverer.
You are our refuge. In Your presence, we have peaceful rest and sleep. We can let go of our cares and worries because You give us a yoke that is easy and a light burden. You are our Good Shepherd who leads beside still waters and shields us from all harm.
You have conquered death, Lord, and no evil can dare resist You. Protect us, Lord, and let no evil come near us. By Your name, let evil flee from Your almighty presence. Banish evil spirits far away from our homes. Let none enter our doors.
Renew the strength in weary bodies and give us tranquil rest. Renew the hope in our minds and give us the peace that surpasses all understanding. Renew the boldness in our spirits and gives us the courage to advance Your kingdom forcefully.
Be the center of our lives always as we sleep and as we wake. In Jesus’ name, we pray. And God’s people said, “Amen!”.
