As much as you’d like to be at peace with all men, there will be times of conflict and times when you absolutely must win. During these times, we must be like David and say a prayer for victory over enemies. You can expect victory if You’re fighting for God’s purpose.
Fortunately, unless you’re at war, there’s little to no need to actually fight to the death against our enemies. In the days of the Old Testament, it was an all-out kill-or-be-killed war. Today, most battles are now fought on different levels – economic, political, social media, and even spiritual.
But even if we fight different battles, victory is still our desire. And God grants victory to those who fight for His purposes. Let’s not be timid and instead be bold in approaching God and asking for victory through prayer.

God our Father in Heaven, we stand before You in prayer, humble before Your great presence. We pray that You grant Your believers victory over their enemies. Lord Jesus, You said that whenever two or three are gathered in Your Name, there You will be. We humbly ask for Your presence beside us. We know that the prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective, yet we claim no righteousness of our own other than the righteousness of our Lord Jesus. Examine their hearts, Lord, for any wrongdoing and reveal their sins to them. If there’s any sin in their hearts, have mercy and let them seek Your forgiveness and repent of their sins. But if their conscience is clear, please help them win against their enemies. You know them, Lord, more than anyone ever could. You know when they are right and wrong, and You can direct their steps and tell them to ask for forgiveness if they have wronged anyone. But if they can’t make peace with their enemies and are unwilling to forgive and continue to attack and persecute Your believers, we ask for Your protection, Lord. Shelter them, for You are their rock and their fortress. Grant them victory against these enemies so their enemies can know You and bow down before You. Defend them, Lord, against not just human enemies but spiritual enemies as well. Defend them against the principalities and strongholds that seek to ensnare believers into their grip. Teach them to put on the full armor of God to be ready for any battle. And yet we also pray that You let their enemies encounter You, Lord, for who You really are. Let them know You as both Lord and Savior. Cause them to surrender to You. Transform them and make them repent from their sins. Then the world will know that You are truly God. May the favor and protection of the Lord be with them always. In Jesus’ name, we pray. And God’s people said, “Amen!”.

Lord God, You are the God that breaks the chains that enslave us and bind us. As I wear God’s full armor, help me battle against strongholds and principalities that are not of this world.
