5 Pure Afternoon Prayers

The scripture tells us to pray continually and these afternoon prayers allow you to connect with God as you go about your day. Praying throughout the day is a powerful way to help you tune into your spiritual power and realign with the values you would like to emphasize. Praying in the afternoon can also give you the energy and stamina to carry on for the rest of your day.

As you offer the following prayers, God will send you encouragement to get through the rest of your day. There are no rules on when or where you offer God a daily prayer. Taking a moment to connect with him brings you closer to His love.

Short Afternoon Prayer

Dear God of all creation,

Thank You for creating this beautiful day. I am grateful for the opportunity to rise in the morning and pursue the endeavors I have before me.

I humbly ask that You will give me kindness and mercy. Please forgive me for my shortcomings. Help me have the energy to endure the rest of this afternoon. I request that You will watch over me and keep me safe.

I love You, God. I will try to follow Your teachings and bring more light and joy into the world around me.

I pray with humility and love, Amen.

Powerful Afternoon Prayer

Dear Father in Heaven,

Thank You for Your kindness. I am so happy to feel the generosity of the guardian angels who protect me from harm and sin. You are truly a divine God, and I know that You will care for me as I strive to live righteously and courageously.

I come before You to invoke Your omnipotent power in my life. Help me create positive change in the world. Please show me the talents You have given me and teach me to magnify those talents to help other people.

I pray that this afternoon will be a powerful, positive time. I ask that You will help me give care and support to the sheep in Your fold who are suffering. Give them relief and comfort from the difficulties of the world around them.

Let me tune my mind and spirit to Your power. Send me guidance through Your Holy Spirit, and help me trust that guidance. I know that as I act following Your will, I will increase Your power in my life.

Protect me from all heartache. I appreciate Your kindness and I know that You understand everything I have ever felt.

I ask for Your power and favor in Your omnipotent name, Amen.

Afternoon Prayer For Blessings

Dear God,

This day is a blessing. I acknowledge my thankfulness for every breath that fills my lungs today. I am grateful for my home and bed. I thank You for my loving support system. I know that they are blessings in my life sent from You.

This afternoon I plead with You to send me blessings. Watch over my family. Give us the things we need to protect our interests. Help us save for the future and prepare for the trials we may face.

God, please grant me health. Keep my body strong and healthy. Then, I ask that You will watch over my mental health. Remove depression and anxiety from my mind. Build a fortress in my mind to protect my spiritual well-being from temptation and sin.

I pray this afternoon that You will provide for my needs. Help me feel patient as I wait for the changes I would like to see in my life. Fill me with love and gratitude. I love You, God, and I am eternally grateful.

Fill this evening with joy and relaxation. As I end my day, help me enjoy time with the people I love. Fill my heart with their companionship and love. Let me finish this day with gratitude at the forefront of my mind.

Sunday Afternoon Prayer

Lord in Heaven,

I come to You this Sunday afternoon in prayer to commune with Your divinity. I love the Sabbath day and the opportunity that it gives me to worship You and to connect with other followers of Jesus Christ.

Bless this Sunday afternoon. Look down on us with grace and mercy. Shower us with sunlight, warmth, and comfort. Fill this earth with the things that we need. Help us act as good stewards of this planet, so that we can enjoy restful Sabbath days.

Lord, please help me rejuvenate today. I know that You have set apart this day as a day to commune with God and rest from the trials of the week. Fill this day with power. Let each cell in my body be filled with energy and power.

Please help my soul recuperate as I prepare for a new week. The world throws arrows and stones at me with temptation and negativity. Please help me sanctify this time to rebuild my spirit. Forgive me for my shortcomings and help fortify me against evil and sadness.

Lord, make this day a day of joy and gratitude. In Your name, I pray, Amen.

Afternoon Prayer For A Friend

Dear God of my soul,

You are my beacon and my inspiration. You have guided me through all trials I have faced, and I have been made stronger by Your holy hand. This afternoon, I pray for someone I care about who needs Your help and strength.

This afternoon, please bless my friend. Help them feel Your love for them in all that they do. Tell them that You love them and let them know that they have divine worth. Please teach my friend that they matter and that the world is a better place with them in it.

Next, God, I ask that You will help my friend know what they should do. Guide them as they make choices. Help them make decisions that will bring them joy and comfort and lead them away from the influence of the devil.

Lord, I pray that You will help my friend achieve their righteous desires. Guide them to success and prosperity. Show them the spiritual gifts You have given them and help them magnify those gifts for good across all of the Earth.
