These morning prayers for kids give us an opportunity as Christians to be thankful to God for the day before us. We ask him to protect and guide our children as they go about their day. You can teach these prayers for your children to offer to God or pray on their behalf.
The best way to start your day is by connecting with God. As you pray each morning, God can help you make good choices. God can strengthen you to endure hardships and temptations you may face. He can bless you and sustain you. Teaching your children that God loves them and supports them can help them have faith and hope in their lives. Show your children how to invite God into their lives by praying every day. As your children learn to pray in the morning, they will grow spiritually.
The following prayers will help you pray for your children and will help your children learn to pray and develop their relationship with God. You can also use some of these prayers if you are gathering together with children and want to start the morning with prayer. Humbly offer these prayers and trust God’s timing.
If you do struggle to start your morning (Kids. I get it.) you could also offer an afternoon prayer instead.
Let us pray.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this beautiful day. We are so grateful to be here together in kindergarten with our dear friends.
Please help us be good listeners today. Give us open ears and happy minds that will be ready to listen to our teachers and what they want us to learn. Close our mouths when it is not our turn to talk so that we can be good sharers. Give us soft hands that know how to share. Help us be kind and gentle with our friends.
Help us learn so much today. Fill our brains with helpful knowledge so we can grow up to be smart and healthy. Help us learn about the world and how it works. Make this learning fun so that we can enjoy it!
Give us a fun time during playtime and recess. Show us fun games that we can play with our friends. Help us run and jump. Help us speak kindly and not be too loud.
We pray that You will keep us safe while we play and learn today. Help us be nice to everyone else. Keep our bodies safe while we play. Help us get back up when we fall down. Keep us safe in Your care.
We pray that You will help us have a good day at school today. We pray that we will befriend people who are lonely and sad.

Morning Scripture for Kids
The LORD is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made – Psalm 145:9
This sentiment from the Bible is especially powerful for children in the morning, when they may be feeling anxious or fearful of the day ahead.
When facing the start of a new day, it can be comforting to know that God’s loving-kindness exists even when they cannot see it themselves. Instead of feeling alone or worried, they can draw strength from the knowledge that the Lord has promised to protect and guide them at all times. They can feel the might of His love and grace around them.
The LORD bless you and keep you – Numbers 6:24
As parents, we want what is best for our children and so does The Lord who watches over them. This verse can help to give our children a sense of peace and comfort as they start their day knowing God is there for them.
We want them to be happy and to succeed in life. We can help them by teaching them about the Bible and instilling in them a love for God.
