This prayer to soften my husband’s heart comes straight from my heart. The bible tells us that husbands are meant to love their wives earnestly.
This prayer asks God to intercede and bring that earnest love back. When a husband is harsh and has hardened his heart it is incredibly difficult and hard to find a way through the situation.
When we pray for this, we praise God for the perfect union we once had that was created in his name.
Let us pray.
Prayers to Soften My Husband’s Heart
Short Prayer
Dear Lord, I pray that You would soften my husband's heart and draw him closer to You and to me. Please help us to communicate with love and understanding, and restore the tenderness in our marriage. Amen.
📖 Ephesians 5:25
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her."
Prayer to Soften Someone’s Heart
Dear Lord, Please, soften the heart of the one I love. Help them to see me as I truly am: a flawed but good person who loves them deeply. Only then can we begin to heal the wounds that have been inflicted on us both. Bring us both back closer than we’ve ever been. Dear God, please help soften their heart. I know that nothing is impossible for you, and I trust that in time, all will be made right. Thank you for hearing my prayer. Amen.
📖 Colossians 3:19
"Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them."
A Prayer to Soften Your Husband’s Heart
This was a longer prayer shared with our YouTube congregation. You can watch the video above to join us in this prayer or we have shorter prayers for love that could also offer to God. Lord, I cannot understand why my husband has turned from me. I just want him to soften back towards me. Help soften my husband’s heart towards me again. I know how much you value marriage and you tell us in the bible how husbands and wives should submit to each other and love each other. This is how it should be, and this is how it used to be between us. I do love my husband and am willing to work towards the life we used to have together. You are Love God, you love all of us, and sometimes some of your flock turn their back on you, so you know how it feels to be treated badly by those you love. It is hard to take, and hard to understand. God, I ask that you help bring my husband’s eyes back towards me. Help him to remember all the good times we have had, and how much he loves me. This feels unbearable. I want us to be the husband and wife we once were. I offer this prayer to soften my husband’s heart to you Lord because I know that you can see how much pain it is causing me to live with such coldness where there should be warmth and love. In the bible, we are asked to be tenderhearted forgiving of one another. There is no tenderness between us at the moment. We once were tender-hearted towards each other and we forgave small misdemeanors because of our love. I want this back in my life. I am asking you to remind him of my love and the feelings I know he has inside. Remind him of your words and your commands on how husbands and wives should treat each other. A husband’s duty is to pay attention to his wife’s needs in every way. Please remind him of your simple and explicit command in Colossians that ‘husbands love your wives, and do not be harsh with them’ This is all I ask, love and the harshness to be gone. I do not know how this division between us has happened. In every conversation it is tense and we are not soft with each other. He does not seem to hear me trying to fix things between us. Help me find the right words to say to soften him towards me, help me find a way to fix this and bring us closer together again. You are an all-powerful God, and you can intercede to turn him towards your words to help him listen to me when I try to help us come back towards the love we had. I know that my husband still loves me deep down and I just want him to remember that love and to be able to show me the love he used to. You know how important love is Lord, you know that this is all that matters. When he turns back to me and we are reunited in love I will give you full praise and thanks for your intercession, Lord. I know you can make this happen Lord I know you want my husband to show me the love and care a husband should give a wife. Help my husband find his way back to me with a heart full of love. Lord I ask this with all my heart. Amen.
📖 1 Peter 3:7
"Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers."
