Kindergarten is one of the first opportunities for many kids to go to school. It is often the longest time they have been away from their caretakers. This step is huge in their development, but it can be intimidating! Praying for kindergarteners can help them feel God’s strength empowering them as they take this step. God will protect and help them.

Prayers For Kindergarten

Holy Lord God,

Please extend Your power and grace to this sweet child heading to kindergarten. Watch over them with your mindful eyes. Keep them safe from harm and hurt.

Help this child to be a generous and loving classmate. Teach them to be helpful to their classmates. Guide them with the inspiration to share and listen and learn.

I pray that this child will receive a powerful hunger for learning and that he or she will enjoy their time at school.

Give this student a caring teacher who will feel engaged in helping this lovely child learn. Fill the teacher’s heart with compassion and empathy. Let them know the way to explain everything to these students so that each child can learn and grow, regardless of what they already know.

I pray that with Your strength, love, and direction, this child will become stronger, braver, and more passionate through their work at school.

Help this child find friends who will love them and support them. Keep them away from students who would bully or do harm. Help them stand up for students who need friends. Give them courage as they begin this new journey. Help them know that they are strong and capable.

Protection Prayers For Kindergarten Students

Dear Father in Heaven,

Thank You for allowing these young students to learn. We are so grateful that they will make friendships and learn about this world You created.

Today we pray that You will send guardian angels to protect these sweet children while they go to school. Keep them safe from evildoers who would wish to cause harm.

Keep these children safe as they play. Help them learn to trust their bodies and keep them safe from falls and pain.

Please protect these kindergarten students from children who are harsh and who would target them to hurt their feelings or bodies. Let them find strength and courage together through kindness and friendship.

Father, please give these children a loving teacher. Help their teacher have empathy and kindness. Let them know that they can trust their teacher for help and encouragement.

We pray that these children will be protected from all physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional harm. Send guardian angels to keep these children held safe in their wings.

Let this learning experience be a positive chance to grow, not a chance to be harmed or made afraid.

Holy God,

Thank You for this blessed morning. We are so grateful for the opportunity to wake up every morning and learn and grow. We are grateful for the rest we received and for the support we find from our loved ones.

We are so grateful to be here together in this kindergarten class and that all of the students are here. Please bless any students who are not here today so that they will know we love them.

Today, as these children will start a new day of kindergarten, we ask that You will bless them and shower them with love. Fill their souls with excitement at all of the opportunities that this day will present.

Open the minds of these students so they will be ready to learn and grow today. Help them understand the things that are difficult and help them know that they can do hard things.

Let these children feel your love in everything that they do. Guide them to be kind students today. Help us have a great day full of fun and learning!

At the end of the day, help them travel home safely to loving, warm homes. Let us share what we learned with those who care for us. We love You, God, and we love this kindergarten class.
