Prayer and the Word of God are a Christian’s most powerful weapons against temptation. And every day, there are temptations all around us! So you need to be vigilant because sin is lurking at every corner, waiting to pounce on you when you least suspect it.

God our Father in Heaven, we stand before You in prayer, humble before Your great presence. We pray for the power to resist temptations for everyone who wants it. Lord Jesus, You said that whenever two or three are gathered in Your Name, there You will be. We humbly ask for Your presence beside us. We know that the prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective, yet we claim no righteousness of our own other than the righteousness of our Lord Jesus. Lord, You know their struggles, and You know that they desire to follow You with all their heart. But sometimes, they commit sin because they fall into temptation. Remind them to stay rooted in the Word and in the church that molds them to be more like You. Do not let them stray away from fellowship with fellow Christians, for no one can keep resisting on their own. Give them friends and angels to surround and defend them when their spirit is weak. Guide them to be stronger and wiser every day. Give them a heart that desires only to please You. Help them to forsake worldly pleasures and keep their sexual purity. Do not let them be tempted to have sex outside the boundaries of marriage. We firmly believe that each can resist temptations, for You said that You had not given anyone challenges that are not common to everyone. We all face the same temptations, but those who cling to You receive the power to overcome. Let them, therefore, cling firmly to You, Lord, and do not let them go. May You guide them and be with them always. In Jesus’ name, we pray. And God’s people said, “Amen!”.
