Dear God, we want to grow your church so that people flock to hear your word and give you praise. The afterlife you promise us has room for all those who embrace you and our love for our fellow man means we want to bring as many as we can into your fold.

Help us to spread your word, to share your love by word and deed so that people are drawn into your inner circle so that they embrace you in body and spirit and listen and study the word of the Lord.

Praying for Church Growth

The growth of the church means a new society of God-fearing and praising people who live according to your gospel Lord.

Help us to grow your church by reinforcing our own attendance and support for activities within the church. Help us strengthen the church we attend by becoming more involved and spreading your works where possible.

When time is short and we face other demands in our lives, help us to increase our time praying to you in private and through this devotion grow in our devotion to you.

Help us to share these prayers and spread your word through sharing our prayers and listening as a family.

Help us to grow your church by speaking about our love for you, and showing in our actions what your word means to us in our daily lives.

Help us to lead the kind of lives you ask us to lead through your gospels, to become the good samaritan and to take care of others, putting our fellow man‘s needs first.

Through our good deeds are done in your name help us spread the love of the Lord.

God, give us strength to be able to speak about you and pray to you in places where others will hear, help us spread your word and your love and share what difference you have made for our lives.

Lord God, we glorify you through building your church on earth. The bible tells us how to build this fellowship through the breaking of bread and prayer and devoting ourselves to the teachings of the apostles.

Coming together to share the word of the Lord, binding ourselves to the teachings of the Lord, and walking his path is our way to continue the church the apostles created.

Growing the church means bringing more people into the fold and building the habits of life around the teachings of the Lord. We need to support the church to grow in bringing more people in to preach the word of the Lord and to support the growth of the church.

Jesus tells us clearly that the church will be built upon Peter the rock and that the gates of hell will not prevail against us because of this rock-solid foundation.

We must continue to build on that rock to keep out the demons of hell and temptation to fortify ourselves against all temptations by prayer and fellowship.

We must commit to building the church by inviting others to join us in that fellowship. God, please give us the strength of our convictions to talk about your grace and wisdom to others to help people to understand that the gates of heaven are open to all those who accept the word of the Lord into their hearts and soul.

We must commit to building his church by keeping strong in our faith and staying true to the word of the Lord We must be what we are commanded to be by God and that is true worshipers, worshipping in spirit and truth.

Denying the temptations the modern world lays before us and staying true to his command.

It is by this example of living a good and successful life in the worship of the Lord that we will succeed in bringing others to his word and into the arms of the growing church.

This prayer for church growth comes from the heart of your faithful worshippers to allow you to guide us and strengthen our hearts in your prayer and show us how we must follow you and grow the church.

In repeating this prayer, I am calling on your wisdom and your power to support us in growing your church in your likeness and in your honor.

We must commit to building his church by supporting anyone who is interested in becoming part of the fellowship of the church by welcoming them with open arms and sharing our learning about God and his teachings.

God is love and the church will grow through love and spreading that love amongst those who need it most.

There are times in all our lives when we are lost and rudderless, and God can appear to lift us up and carry us through our worst times, if we can help people find that path in their worst of times they will stay with their faith and their church throughout their lives.

Help us Lord to support those in need to bring them to your word and your love so that they may embrace your teachings and your church.

The growth of the church through the generations is really important. Lord, help us to engage with our children to bring them into your flock and encourage them to follow your word because they feel your love and acceptance in their hearts.

Let us show them a strong and merciful God who sees their souls and accepts them as imperfect beings. Bringing God to the young people helps them grow in your love and in their sense of belonging to a fellowship.

Growing your church by swelling the numbers with young people who are drawn to worship you and share their worship with their peers is a wonderful way of developing the church and supporting young people to live good and fulfilling lives.

We give you praise, Lord that you have brought this faith and this church into our lives so that we may follow your teachings and find our way into heaven. You keep us safe in your love, and you help us with all of our problems.

Help us Lord to remember to thank you for all that you bring us in life, for all of the blessings you bring us on a daily basis, and for all the times you carry us through our problems.

We can remember you in our time alone in prayer, we can also glorify your name by joining with others in exalting your name on high.

As we read in Matthew ‘where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them’

So a simple way of growing your church is for us to gather together to honor you, to pray together, to break bread together, to pay attention to each other and to you.

Growing your church one conversation at a time is something we can all do.

Gathering in your name so you are present with us is our honor and we will commit to doing this Lord so that the church grows daily in strength and love.

Lord, hear our prayer

Amen.

Scripture for Church Growth

Scripture for Church Growth

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near” Hebrews 10:24-25

You often hear this scripture used in an opening prayer for Church services. A lovely and simple reminder that it is all about love and good works; this is what leads to the growth of the church. Building the church by our simple daily actions of following his word. By example, we shall lead quietly and consistently.

“Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood” Acts 20:28

Once again, it is all about paying attention to each other and caring for the church in its very essence by looking after each other. This also reminds us that the church exists because God sent his only son to be sacrificed so that we would see the way.

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin” John 1:7
